Project 5 Noise Envelope and Sytrus

For this project I decided to make the static sound come in as more of a ocean sound than just to start off the song. I automated the fruity filter's cut off frequency and band pass to give it more of an ocean wishy washy sound. I also used the statics volume setting so that it also sounded as though the static was flowing back and forth like waves. As for the main theme I went for more of a chordal sound as made by Sytrus's Fairy preset. I altered the preset by making the notes flow in calming and resonate for a while then drift off. I added some delay and a chorus effect to the final mix to give it a "bigger" sound. I used 9 chords and 6th chords because it sounds more calm the way the chord is setup with the bass note. I have a bass come in halfway through that sounds more like an alien because the notes aren't separated and flow into each other seamlessly. The bass isn't just the bass note it rises and lowers chromatically and makes the waves in the background sound as though they are flowing even more.

Project 4 Filter

For this Project i decided to have a little laid back approach. Instead of fast FPC Ambient drums and break beats I went with a simple clap and bass drum. I used the Hip Bass Drum #2 because I feel that it compliments the style of the arpeggios well. I used Real Drums clap as well and in the background i used a symphony HIT #5 for a more spacious feel. While searching through the files of the 3x Osc modulator i found a bunch of arpeggios and decided to try them out. some sounded like video games such as Arpeggios 3 and 5 (which together made a very good sound to a video game ending) but what really caught me was the simplicity and slow tempo feel of Arpeggio 8. I liked how it sounded so I put the Filter and X-Y controls on this one. It's not fast or chaotic and that's what I like about it. Just simplicity.

Project 3 Automation

For this Project i wanted to mix together a dance kind of grove with a warble type effect on the instrument. For instruments i used FPC for the drums. I used an ambient groove for the first measure because i really like the diversity the ambient FPC drums can take. As for the change in key i did halfway through i used a break beat to change up the idea that i was using. the main instrument i used was the SimSynth. I used different wave forms for each octave making the lower octave more rounded like an actual bass. I automated the length of the notes so halfway through it became very short and gradually grew throughout the project. i also made the volume change as well and slowly disappear. Finally i made a automation that sounded somewhat like a phaser to the simsynth. Enjoy

Project 2 chop tool

In this loop I wanted to use a distorted guitar but as I used the chop tool it kind of came out as a video game in mikes eyes. Some sort of last level or boss to a Mega man game. I agree somewhat and I think the drums helped I used the FPC drumming to come up with a idea. I took two different looped drums from FPC and used one as the main drums and the other as a transfer to the transposed section. The bass follows some of the pattern the guitar provides but starts out more simplistic then becomes as chopped as the guitar riff. It makes me wanna play Mega man again.

Week 1/ Project 1

For this drum loop i chose to go for more of a relaxed kind of feel not to much of a fast blast beats metal drum. The drumming pattern is simple with a nice accent at the end by opening the high hat. I thought of the drum beat combining the two from my good friend Bryan during our band practices. The last drum i wanted to use a tambourine and so i did.

Signing Up

So far I have signed up for all the required accounts but not all were very easy to accomplish. Indabamusic for some reason had been encoded wrong on the page and made no sense on how to sign up or sign in. I believe it only had to do with the school computers because it works fine at my house. Other than Indabamusic all the accounts have been signed up for.
